His experience: A Grade Access Pty Ltd started up as a company in early 2014. The founder, Colin Haley has worked in the Building Maintenance Unit industry for over 22 years.
Colin started as an apprentice Fitter and Turner for E.W. Cox International in Melbourne where he gained a wealth of experience and knowledge in the drawing office, machine shop, fabrication area and finally the fitting area. After completing a post trade and advanced certificate in engineering, Colin was put in charge of the fitting, machining and coating of all the BMUs, gantries, lift platforms and special-order access and lifting equipment that were sent worldwide to the majority of the tallest and most iconic buildings. In Sydney, he was involved in Darling Park 2, both BMU and lift platform, Glebe Island bridge gantries, Sydney Harbour Bridge, Sydney Opera House, Aurora Place, World Tower and many more. Colin had involvement in all E.W Cox BMU’s built after 1992. Further, in 1999 Colin came to Sydney to install the largest BMU in the world. This unit weighed 120 tons and was capable of extending 45 meters and luffing the same height. As such, Colin has taken with him an immeasurable amount of experience in the BMU field.
